The Christmas Store is an organization dedicated to providing a wonderful Christmas to underprivileged families throughout the Mid-South. The volunteers for the Clydesdale Christmas Store hold an auction each year in December to raise the funds needed to buy presents for the children. All work is on a volunteer basis and all donations go to grant the children's wishes. Names of area children are obtained from area schools and churches.
Preparations begin in August of each year. Many area businesses are most generous in donating funds, toys, and their employee's time for volunteering. Both businesses and individuals spend many hours putting together bicycles, tricycles, and other toys. Each child makes three specific wishes and we fulfill two of the wishes. The items purchased are wrapped and labeled for the child.
On the Saturday before Christmas. The Clydesdale Christmas Store is held at the National Guard Armory in Holly Springs, MS. A large area is set up with refreshments where the children can color and play while they wait for Santa. Many elves are on hand to make it a fun time for the little ones. Each child, with their parent, goes to see Santa in his workshop. Santa talks with the child and presents the child with the gifts from his/her wish list.
Thousands of children in Benton, DeSoto, Lafayette, Marshall, and Union counties were granted their Christmas wishes this year. Now in its 16th year the Christmas Store plans to help hundreds children this Christmas. We have expanded our efforts to include local area nursing homes to assist senior citizens who may need help. To continue our efforts, we need your help of time or monetary donation. Please feel free to explore our site and contact us if you would like to become an elf.

Thanks,

The Clydesdale Christmas Store
